American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists is the nation’s leading group of professionals providing health care for women.  The ACOG is a private, voluntary, nonprofit membership organization and was founded in 1951 in Chicago, Illinois.  Today, the ACOG is based in Washington, DC and has over 45,000 members.  The ACOG works primarily in four areas: serving as a strong advocate for quality health care for women; maintaining the highest standards of clinical practice and continuing education for its members; promoting patient education and stimulating patient understanding of and involvement in medical care; and increasing awareness among its members and the public of the changing issues facing women’s health care.

Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations is an independent, not for profit organization that is the nation’s predominant standards setting, evaluation, and accrediting body in health care. Joint Commission has develops professionally health care based standards and evaluated the compliance of organizations against these benchmarks. Joint Commission evaluates and accredits more than 19,000 health care organizations and programs in the United States.

National Association of Neonatal Nurses represents the community of neonatal nurses who provide care to high-risk neonatal patients. NANN is focused on the professional development of high-risk neonatal nurses, and influences standards of practice through advocacy for nurses and babies, collaboration and leadership.

National Center for Missing & Exploited Children is a national private, non-profit organization that serves as a focal point in recovering missing children and raising public awareness about ways to help prevent child abduction, molestation, and sexual exploitation. It provides assistance and education to parents, children, law enforcement, schools, and the community.
